Dated Windshield Glass

OK so 45 points for a typical replacement windshield w/ a trivial date code etched on and otherwise incorrect.

How many points does the OEM glass windshield garner properly date coded and all? I presume less than 60 since the repro logos can be detected but more than the 45 for the example above...

Seems only appropriate this thread be moved here to the Factory Correct Restoration / NCRS Forum ;)

Thanks to all our NCRS members that share their knowledge here :upthumbs

A windshield that "appears" typical of factory production (logo, date, tint pattern, etc. with no condition issues) will get the full 60 points credit. The reproduction windshields from OEM Glass in Illinois are very well done and typically will get no deduction (which is why they're three times the price of a glass-shop replacement).

The key word in Flight judging is "appears"; absolute originality (original parts never touched since the car was built) is only applicable in Star/Bowtie judging, which is a whole different ball game - there is no consideration whatsoever for "condition" in Star/Bowtie judging - only absolute originality, regardless of condition.
