Had the dealer fix afew years ago but not many miles put on--got the wait 10 seconds and steering column message--installed lcm5--runs perfect now with no messages--BTW i have a ac delco 78 120RC new battery always on a maintainer--so a fully charged battery did NOT keep from steering lock problems--:thumb

I went the LCM5 route a few years ago.
Although there are other brands available, Compliance Parts packaging impressed me a lot more than the plastic box of the others.

It has been a couple of years and no problems whatsoev

LCM5 is the best on the market--Richard at compliance parts told me not to do the brown wire mod unless the wait 10 sec message appers--100 miles and many starts - have no messages or codes--he did say a very small % need the brown wire--dealers are now installing this instead of there worthless gm column lock fix--that says alot!!:thumb
