When I purchased my car last year besides the car I got a box full of parts that the previous owner forgot to put back in or didn't know how to when he was restoring it. So now I'm having fun tearing things apart again and trying to do things right. Which I'm enjoying doing.
Anyways this weeks dilema is the defroster duct which he left out but was nice enough to put in THE box. I pulled the glove box out and thought it would be an easy fix. But it seems like the duct is to short. If I place it over the heater it does't reach to the under side of the dash. So the tabs on the top of the duct won't reach so I can secure it. I can't find a clear detail in the assembly manual to show if I'm doing anything wrong.
Any hints from someone who's done this before.

Mark

The defroster duct is not connected directly to the heater box. There is a 1/4" to 3/4" air gap between them. It seems like a natural for a flexible connection but there is none.

Thanks, I never would have guessed that there was a space.
Go figure @#$%
And if I did I would have thought it was on the other end near the dash.

Thanks again, Mark :BOW

The gap was designed in on purpose to prevent the noise and vibration from the heater blower and inner box from being transmitted directly to the instrument panel, which would amplify it, like a drumhead.
