Ok, here is the issue. I changed the passenger plug wires and plugs about 8,000 miles ago. I changed the driver plugs at the same time, but left the original plug wires on after I saw what a hassle they would be to change. Well, now I need to change the driver side wires (65,000 miles). In the dark I can see that they are starting to arc between two of the wires intermittently. The idle is steady, but not smooth. I haven't noticed a loss in power, but I am sure that arcing wires are not helping anything.
So, here is my situation. I can pay the dealer to replace the wires. They want about 4.5 hours of labor which equates to $450. I could spend $200 more and get a Delteq system and install that and never have to worry about plug wire changes again, because the Delteq makes them so easy to change. Or, I could spend no money and spend a day screaming and yelling at my car while removing front engine components to get to the wires and remove and replace them. Money isn't really an issue here. So, what would you do? (If your suggestion is to change the wires, I will take all suggestions on how to replace them more easily.)
Thanks.
