'81 corvette, would like a detachable steering wheel as a theft deterrent. Telescoping steering is apparently a problem per the shop that's doing a lot of the work. Does anyone know of any aftermarket kits that work well with this year?

Thanks!

p.s. just fired it up the first time last week. Over the past 6 months, went from pretty much stock to: zz383 with weiand 177, hedman short tubes (no long tubes could apparently fit around the lakewood scatter shield), rebuilt BW T10, rebuilt 2.73 rear end, steeroids power rack&pinion, Van Steel coilover rear suspension, new aluminum radiator, new ignition/alternator/modern AC compressor...

Grant used to sell the device you installed on your steering column which made the wheel removable as an anti-theft measure. Not sure if it sell sells that product but that might be a place to start.
