In addition to polishing my rims I plan on detailing the engine compartment. While changing the Fuel injectors I want to clean up in intake, plenum, runners, throttle body and valve covers. I have used a paint called Aluma blast from Eastwood before but I wanted to make it look as close to stock as possible any info would be great. Oh yes thanks to all for you help with the rims.

I assume the parts will be off the car for the cleaning right? I dont see why an engine degreaser wouldn't work on the inside of the plenum and runners. However they make an actual throttle body cleaner you might be able to use. While your at it clean the Throttle body. Other than that I am not totally sure.

I'll have the part off and was consigering hot tanking the parts and painting.

If you have the manifold off the car you can use mild a/c coil cleaner to clean the aluminum parts and a wire brush but dont let it touch anything plastic or rubber, it will also eat the gaskets away as well. It does do a great job of brightening up bare or cast alluminum.

Great i tried Eagle one Aluminimum wheel cleaner but it wasnt enough

There is just enough acid in that coil cleaner that with the help of the wire brush it really cleans and brightens the part, I like to use it on the "A" arms and rear suspension parts, they look like chrome when your done but I use eagle one alluminum polish that looks like cotton and 0000 steele wool around the ends of the arms and anywhere near any rubber bushings or where it might drip down on the springs.

get the non foaming type. It's easier to rinse off and makes less of a mess.
