Is it possible to be able to turn back the miles on the DIC odometer on C5s ?????
I've seen too many three and four year old C5s with less than 3,000 miles. What do these people do, buy the car take home and park it for a couple of years which makes no sense to me....or do they drive the heck out of them and turn back the odometer.....

Hey Hotwing, it is not possible to change the mileage on these computers, I don't think. You would have to have a contact willing to break the law at a dealer etc. These computers now a days are way to sophisticated. I also have a Torch Red Coupe, 2002 and when I bought it in January of 2005 it had 2400 miles on it. The guy that owned it traded it in on a $85,000 Mercedes for some reason. I checked with Chevy before buying it and they verified the miles. He had an oil change at 1500 miles and that was it. These things are built to drive. I just turned 14,000 miles after about a year and a half. Love these cars.

If you believe that you are Sadly mistaken!!!!!!!!!! You can buy the Special computer and software on ebay sometimes!! I've seen it on several occasions!!:upthumbs

I know what you mean....I can't stay out of mine...Ive put 5,000 on mine just this year...I don't care .... This is the Vette I'm buying.
If it needs something down the line ....It's getting it....create motor and all......And after all that......they can bury me in it

Baby Boomer C5 Owners

For the most part these low milage C5 are legitimate. A high pertentage of them are garage queens purchased by early boomer empty nesters with some expendable income. The owners never intended to drive them daily and they really picked the occasions. Hey this sounds pretty familiar.;)

Sounds like a waste of $$$$ to me !!!!

They are wery easy to reprogram, as GMJunkey mention there are small programers you can buy and use it as many times or cars as you wont. I found a site that sold them when I was looking for a spedo for my 32 dodge, all they wonted was $400 and signature on a waiwer that you will not brake any laws ;). Of course, why would anyone buy one then?
Just Google for digital spedomiters:w.

Let's play nicely. There is room in the Corvette world for drivers and for garage queens. Which approach is better is simply a matter of personal opinion.

P.S. - I hope you can get that other deal worked out and get on down to BG in June. As you can see I still need some therapy.

Thanks, Remo. Can't happen this year.

I will keep your med supply up to date to account for your changing clinical situation. But the meds cannot get much stronger before the zomnambulism side effect kicks in.
