Changed the oil in my 66 today, and being so excited to take it out for a test drive, I forgot to put the oil cap back on! Duh!
Now I realized this after I returned from a 45 minute drive for about 15-20 miles. The roads weren't bad (dusty, wet...etc.) but now I'm wondering how much garbage got in there. Should I change the oil again?

I wouldn't worry about it - more likely oil vapors flowed out rather than anything getting in.

I did the same thing on my way to a show 2 years ago,I had oil all over the fire wall and heater motor.A fellow at the show went to his house and got an extra one for me to borrow for the ride home.better you left the cap off rather then the plug.

No Joke.. would have been installing a new motor instead of a new cap..
