I had the radiator replaced & the front "tunnel" area looks like it's wrong & missing screws. What should it look like. What about the "L" shaped tab on the driver side? Does your car have that sticking out doing nothing?

Thanks!

Here's the passenger side - missing screws???

Looks like this.

Anyone know what the little box w/ the cross hatch opening is?

Thanks!

froggy47,

Your suspicions are correct about missing screws in you radiator area. I went out and checked my LT4, it’s stock and has not been altered.

There should be screws in the all of the vacant holes. The “points” and threads of the screws should be visible in your radiator intake area. The flat heads of the screws would be on the INSIDE of the engine compartment. I noticed that your driver side is missing the “clips” that are supposed to be there. The clips are visible in your passenger side photo.

The “L” shaped tab should be on both sides. It rests flush against a larger black plastic piece that continues upwards. Behind the second black piece is the actual one piece bumper.

I think the little box with the cross hatch opening is the housing for the outside temperature sensor that comes with the electronic climate control option. I think the ambient air temperature reading is taken here, then displayed on your climate control head unit. If I’m wrong on the sensor, someone will jump in here and set things straight.

If you know a fellow C4 owner that has their radiator area unaltered, you may want to take some shots of how it should be, run the photos out, and give them to the dealer as a go-by. I wish had a digital camera!

Good Luck

Thanks B17crew!

B17 is correct in what he said. You can put the clips on the other panel and put the screws in from under the car as the hex headed sheet metal screws are really difficult to put in on the engine compartment side. Looks like the dealer that did the work stuck it to you. Those screws need to be in the panels for support.

Thanks Randy
