Differentials...

Does anyone know were I may find a good deal on differentials.......I have the original 3:08 in there now but I want to switch to a lower gear.....Maybe 3:70......They all want around 800 n up plus the core charge......Also having the overdrive tranny how far can I go without sacraficing highway cruise.....Thanx...Jerrylee///

Is there a reason in particular that you want to change the whole differential? Why not just replace the gears?

Id say 4.11 is about max you could go depending on what trans is in there.If there is a shop close by that does that kind of work id get a set of gears and a install kit and save some bucks that way.

if you are not in a big hurry I have 3.70 or 4:11 gears in the 68 I recently bought and would like to go to a 3 something when I put in the TKO, it won't be till next year some time though.
