First off Welcome to CAC! :thumb :w

Now with the welcome out of the way, Let's see if we can get your questions answered...

There were differences in the LS1 engine, camshaft, intake, heads (maybe). The changes came in 2001 click here to read about the changes. I believe that the transmissions were the same, but I could be wrong. What happened to your engine? Is the Transmission giving problems as well?

GMJunkie, can you help us out here?

The engines are generally the same but, as you note, there are differences. The camshaft profiles may be slightly different. The engine block is somewhat different. The intake manifold is quite different...make sure you use your 02 manifold, not the 98 unit. Also, the PCV system is different...again, use the 02 spec. parts for that.

Use your existing ECM, injectors and fuel system. There may be some slight incompatibilities with sensors, wiring and cooling systems. Whatever those might be, you need to adapt the 98 hardware to work with the configuration of your 2002.

The trans is probably the same except for, perhaps, sensors and wiring.

If you don't have a copy, I strongly advise you purchase the 2002 Factory Service Manual. A good source for these in the U.S. is Zip Products.

Hello!!

I am a car engineer-friend of billzisim, and I work on Hondas.

He shared his account with me to read the thread and ask you instructions or help in case I face any prob.

Bill had his car stolen and when he finally found it the transmition wasn't working at all and the engine temprature was high.

I attach you 2 photos of the "car" below.

We are thinking of removing the heads to examine and take them to the plane.

Bill told me that he can see bubbles in the bottle where the water returns fron the engine. That's why we want ti test the heads for cracks, or check the flange(or what else? any idea?)

I don't have any experience in this brand, so I hope that you will help if I face difficulties in this modification.

Thank you in advance

Greetings from Greece
