hi all,
Does anyone know if an instrument cluster from an 85 will work in a 88?

They are two slightly different clusters. I dont know if they can be made to work perfectly.

I don't Think it will work but I'm no expert.One thing to remember is if you have cruise make sure the unit you are getting has the cruise option.
there is a sticker on the back of the unit with a letter code.
LS 84 = cruise
LT 84 = no cruise
LAK 85 = cruise
LAL 85 = no/cruise
LAW 86 = cruise
LAX 86 = no cruise
LBS 87-88 = cruise
LBT 87-88 = no cruise
LDL 89 = cruise
I just bought an 86 LAW dash from Ebay $200.00 I thought was cheap took it apart and it need all of the bulds replaced, Danm those things are $$$$$
It was advertised as an 87 but when I got it it turned out to be an 86. So it sits in the garage for now.

The 84 and 85 will work together and the 86,87 and 88 are the same. The 89 is in a world of its own. The 89 was the last year of the all dig. dash.

thanks everybody,
i was going to buy one from an 85 but now im getting one from an 86.i have an 88. thanks for the unit codes too , that helped alot. this is going to be my second summer with the vette ,it's like the grandkid's...if i knew they were going to be this much fun i'd have had them first!
