Found this pic. Thought I'd post it. This is the factory correct Dill 627 valve stem cap used from the early 60's through the end of the C3 run, I believe. Comments? Chuck

i dont know but i would
like to find some had my repair shop
take my car for tyer chaing and they through away valve steam and cap

You'll find them on all 2002-2003 Chrysler products - I just took eight of them off my '02 Dodge Caravan and my wife's '03 Sebring convertible and replaced them with generic caps from my parts box. Not rare at all - still used in production today (at least they are on Chrysler products)! Yup, Dill 627's - even have the little tit on the end - 100% correct! :D

The Dill 627 caps are the original OEM caps on many years of Corvettes. They are a "judged" item at NCRS meets. They're just one of those little "correct" detail items. I was at a flea market yesterday. A fellow had an entire Tupperware container of them. SO....they're not rare....not hard to find. Didn't know that they're still used today. Thanks JohnZ. :) Chuck

They were also being used on newer Chevy S-10 pick-ups too, which my friend has gotten several sets from.

I'll go through my stuff monday I bet I have some. I'll let you know. I didn't know they judged valve seals!

Hey Chuck,
Another little tidbit of knowledge is that the Dill 633 caps which were used on post 58 C1 cars are still available as well! Every discount tire outlet has them on all the new valve stems that they sell! Jack Humphrey steered me to them when I could not find any.
:w

Good to know that too, John. BTW...the valve stems are/would be a VERY minor deduct, if a deduct at all. You MIGHT loose 1 point if you have all 5 incorrect. 1 "little point" is 1/4,500 of a "big point, as the scoring system is based on roughly 4500 points, with the final total being divided by 45. Chuck

Chuck,
You are exactly right that it is only 1 point. I dug out an old judging sheet from before I had the correct ones. I don't know where that 633 came from, the C1 caps are 627 Dill caps just like later models! Just chipping away at it one point at a time. I have gotten all the big points that I can get and even the 1 point changes are starting to get expensive. The cost to take my car from a 98.6 % car to a 99% car will probably not be worth it!
:w

I thought they were all "627" but wasn't sure. The 53-55's used the metal valve stem caps. Not sure about 56 and up. I was going to ask you what a "633" was. :) Chuck

Chuck,
I guess it was just a little cerebral flatulence. The older I get the more it happens!
:duh

Good to know, now I gotta start searching for late model chryslers and s-10s at the mall this weekend:D
