Dim HUD

Hey all, I'm driving along today enjoying the weather when my HUD started to get dim by itself. I tried to adjust the brightness level of the display, which made it dimmer and harder to see. THe first time it happened, the HUD looked like it does at "start up" when you can see the check gages and all the other display items.

I drove for about 10 miles and the display got dimmer and brighter.
I can already see the repair order from Chevy stating "could not reproduce customer problem" Car is an 04, pleanty of time left on warranty.

Anyone else experience this problem?
thanks, Mike

Mike,
I've only experienced a problem with my HUD when I'm driving at a particular angle to the sun and it sort of washes out the display. The dimming you mention- have noticed it happening at any particular time of day, when you're driving a regular route? Like a commute? If it's happening all the time, I would have to wonder if the lighting is somehow going out. If that's the case, this would be the first instance I've ever heard of that.

Patrick, I only noticed it driving during the day. Today was the first time i noticed it. Im going to take it out tomorrow and see if i get the dimming to re-occur. IT wasn't that sunny out where the screen would appear to be bleached. I'll let you know how i make out.
Thanks for the help... Mike

I definitely think you're on the right track here. I have experienced the same thing occasionally too.
