Hello everyone...
Decided to tackle a long time trouble code 21 (throttle sensor circuit) on my stock 81. To make a long story short, the electrical part as been taken care of, so went ahead and removed the air horn on the carb to clean the sticking plunger. Done...
Now, while re-assembling the whole thing, I cannot find where the discharge ball retainer goes. The service manual has a picture on page 6C4-26 but not clear enough for me :confused. Sure some of you guys have done this before, so would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.
Regards..,
Roger :)

Hello Roger,

Your discharge ball is to the right of your accel. charge pump underneath a little bolt or screw. If you have an old discharge ball, put it in and give it a few punch with a hamer to give the carb a new seat. I think the retainer is the bolt/screw that goes over the ball. Check it if it's not leaking any fuel when under load.
Hope this helps?

Greetings Peter

Thank you very much Peter. Your explanation is a lot better than what they give you in the Service Manual. :beer
