Just a bunch of parts....
Does anyone know who owns this Vette? It is absolutely beautiful. I'd like to contact them to find out the size and offset of the wheels and to find out what color that is.

Wow! That is some Vette. Very nice and cherry looking. Quite a nice paint job on it. Sorry, don't know who's it is.

It appears to have a Missouri license. I looked at Mid America's web site under the Fun Fest and was shocked that it wasn't honored. Some of the cars that were, were pretty sad.

How come the forum system tells me that I must be a member to view the pictures?

Gerry,

I'm not sure what cause's the error for you. The first link did the same thing to me? The second link worked fine ;) Here is the photo:

Bud,

Thanks for the Help! That is one fine looking (on the modified sense) Corvette.

Those are American Racing Torque Thust II wheels.

I have them on my '69.

I have created a "how to" for fitting large wheels on Sharks on my web page at http://www.caspeed.com, click on the New Shoes! link.

That is one sweet ride. I am gonna add that pic to my folder of vettes for when I do a repaint on mine. It looks awesome.

I know that they are American Racing Torque Thrust II's, I just can't tell if they are 17"s or 18"s. Your website has proved very helpful in saving me time figuring out the offset required. I have been wavering on buying the offset trailing arms in order to fit more meat under the stock fenders.

My Vette has never been in a collision, so I'm not real excited about cutting the virgin glass in order to flare the wheel wells. Plus, the rebuild has proven easy to empty my bank account and I'm going to have to better prioritize some of my mods in order to keep it on a "cash" basis. I hate credit, as you may get a good deal on some parts, but if you charge them, the interest makes the good deal a not so great deal pretty quickly.

I love the color of that Vette....just can't tell if it's a candy color or a factory color off of another car.

They sure look like 17's to my eye...

Your car already has fatter fenders, so your golden. It's just us lucky '68 and '69 owners that have a mondo struggle fitting fat meats under the stock setup.

In fact, there is no reason for you not to go to a 10" wheel and 11" (315) tire if you wanted to do so. A little ruler work will confirm that, but the combination of an offset trailing arm, 4.5" (even 4.75" would work) back spaced wheel and the +1" wider stock fenders means you can go way phat (assuming you have the wallet of course) :)

Your preachin' to the choir there reverend :) The stock lines are beautiful and shouldn't be molested. I've seen Sharks wearing phat tires and flared fenders that makes them look like pregnant roller skates... Way not my style at all.

Amen on the ca$h part too. I have a sick amount of it in my Vette already, and it's still not "done". :eyerole

I vote Candy, but I've been wrong a couple of million times before :)

I'm glad my web page was helpful for you. Buzz me if there's anything else I can do to help.

Bud,

I don't know why I get the error either, for when I launch the CAC in my browser the home page welcomes me and keeps track of all the postings I have read.

Out of curiosity, I clicked the register icon and the system told me that I was register as GerryLP, which is true; however, when I try to view a posted pic through a posted short cut then the system says that I must be registered to view picture. I don't get! :confused

GerryLP:
I get this same error when I have "auto login" = no and "browse board with cookies" = no (user CP- Edit Options).
If this is the case with you, try setting those to yes. Close your browser all the way down and come back in. it worked for me.

Tammy,

I went to (I have Win98) start/settings/control panel/ internet options/advanced. Is that where the options you mentioned are?

Gerry all I did was re-log on

It did the same thing to me and does frequently....

I thought it just hated credit-card-sponge '75's owned by old fat guys... :cry

While you're at the color questions, are the two red ones behind it in the pics "Torch Red"? Sometime this summer after a few bank robberies or learning how to transmute rotten fiberglass into gold bars, I need to put an Earl Shieb level cheapy paint job on my PoS... and I wanted a brighter red than the near orange thing that's peeling off of it now...

That looks a shade or two too dark or maroonish to be standard "candy apple red" to me, but it's a beautiful color.

So Mako, you're saying the '75's are easier to plant big meats under with lesser mods thatn the '68-'69's? It's a coming mod and I think my trailing arm bushing on one side is iffy anyhow, so I may do the offsets soon. I had read 69MyWay (Chris)'s details on his flares, but have yet to check your 'site. (It doesn't matter a great deal yet with nearly new Michelin Pilot V's in 225 on rallies - with my 110 hp "power" plant, but it will sooner or later...)

Pretty much, you got it. The early Sharks have ~1" less width under the fenders than the '70+ cars.

If your going to be reworking the trailing arms, it's not a lot more $ to just replace them with an offset arm instead. The main added expense is the new shortened rear spring.

That way your set up for if/when you want fat meats in the rear.

Jerry,
I'm sorry to have been so vague! I meant in the CAC, go to the User CP link toward the top of the screen, then go to Edit Options. That's where you'll find all the options for customizing your CAC experience :) You want to Browse Board with Cookies and you also want Automatic Login.
Of course you DO need to have your browser set to accept cookies. That IS under your internet options - but it will be on the Advanced Tab (I don't have win98 on this machine but I think it is similar to win 2000)
PM me if you need assistance. I also have a win98 machine that I can go look at if necessary :)
