On a TNT wheel the benzel close to the dash has a slot in it. Whats the slot for? Am I missing a piece?

if the slot is left to right, it might be for the telescoping lock lever.

the piece goes close to the dash, on the part of the column that doesn't move. My digtal camera out of town right now and no one in the hood has a C-3
