The drivers side door on my 69 coupe hangs a little low when open, so when I shut it it does not close all the way unless I slam it hard. Does anyone have a reference to a good recommended height adjustment procedure?

Thanks!

Ernie

Door adjustment procedure

Good morning. There is a chance that the bushings on the door hinges have gone bad and need to be replaced. If one or both of them are worn, the door will sag and the more you slam the door on the lock post the greater your chances that it will have to be replaced as well. I had the bushing replaced on my 96 coupe this spring and a good body shop did it for me or $75 including the parts. If it is the bushings, it will only get worse over time if they are not replaced. Good luck.

Saw a post some time back.Remove door panel to ackcess door hinge bolts.Close the door and then loosen the bolts.Door hinges with then self align to door and you tighten the bolts.May take a couple of trys but it sounds reasonable. You have to be in the car to reach hinge bolts or half in if bending over top of door with window down.
