The door ajar light goes on and off when I go over a bump yet the doors are securely closed. Is this a problem with the connection behind the dash or is it a problem at the door switch?

Is the dash light connection accessable when you take off the side dash panels on the passenger's side of the drive train hump?

Thanks, in advance.....

my door light stayed on be cause it was not grounded ot door you may check if tight at the door they are threaded

The door ajar switch is self adjusting. It is possible to over adjust. If you look at the center pin it slides into a sleeve which self adjusts by sliding into the threaded portion. This is usually only set upon installation, but it can slide in too far. If this is the case, what i did is find the proper extension and put crazy glue on the sleeve and let it dry good. This should be a permanent fix. I did mine over 10yrs ago and still works good. rick

i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 73. tHE CARS CAME WITH A LITTLE RUBBER BUMPER THAT HAS DOUBLE BACK TAPE ON ONE SIDE AND IT STICKS TO THE MAITING DOOR JAMB MINE HAD ROTTED OUT SO i WENT TO LOCAL STORE AND BOUGHT SOME BUMMPER AND THAT DID THE TRICK.

hOPE THAT THIS HELPS.

Dumb question, but do all Sharks have this door ajar thing. I don't recall ever one on my 81.
