door handle

I'm working on replacing the driver's side (outside) door handle on my 79 vette..I removed the door panel and then the 2 nuts connecting the door handle to the door frame. The handle is now loose, but i cant pull it out of the door. IT feels like there is something else holding it on. By the way, i did remove the linkage from the door handle.

Mike,that should be all there is. I've replaced many of them and sometimes you have to move it around a little but nothing else should be holding it. Fred

I did mine last summer......I took the water diverter out and I took the three big screws out of the door latch assembly so I could move it around...It came right out then....and when you go to put the new one back in, it will go together easier....
