Using the DIC you can program the car to not automatically lock the doors.
I had programmed mine to lock automatically until I realized that the car will lock me out if I leave the FOB inside.
It is easier to press the FOB button after I get out than to try to enter my locked C6. :W
I'm curious, how did you gain entry when your fob was locked in? Second fob?Rear hatch key?
Your vehicle can be programmed to sound the horn three times and unlock the driver door when both doors are closed and there is a keyless access transmitter inside the vehicle. When the driver door is opened, a reminder chime will sound continuously. The vehicle will remain locked only when at least one transmitter has been removed from the vehicle and both doors are closed.
It will NOT lock you out of the car if you don't have the FOB with you when you exit the car. The doors will auto lock when the FOB is a distance from the car not the driver. If the FOB is in the car and you shut it off, get out and walk away, the car will not lock. But anyone else could get in and drive away, with the FOB in the car.
We had this happen when we first got our '07. I was out of town, the wife picked up the car and put it in the garage. She placed my FOB in the glove box for when I got back. Our daughter dared a neighbor kid (we knew, had a drivers license) to take the car for a cruse. He got in and hit the button and it started right up, away he went. I was NOT amused!!!
