Hi,

Look at this, the door mechanism was so full of old grease which as gone hard as gum that i couldn't get the door open from the outside anymore, took me a day of soaking in varsol to get it cleaned up. Now that it is clean, what kind of spray lubricant should i use on this?

Replace it,It's worn out!:thumb

Your going to go to all that work and it's going to work 1- 20 times and then it's going lock up again and your back to Square 1 !~~!!!~!~!!:thumb:thumb

Oh shit! Really? Crap! I thought i had it fixed. It's moving fine now. So you sure it won't last?

I'm purdy sure,I've changed out 3 drivers door latches on my 78 in the 34 years I've owned it!:thumb

:beer

Was the reason it wouldn't work because the mechanism was stuck due to the hardened grease? If so, I'd reinstall and give it a shot. New latches aren't cheap.

I've cleaned everything and adjusted the latch, it's never worker better, i will do the same on the other side as well because it's worth it i think

I've got over 70K miles on mine and never had a problem w/ the latches.
