Hi, I am looking at the Doc Rebuild Catalog and noticed these, Door Water Diverters. MY 1980 does not have them. Are they needed at all?? Thanks for all information

Tom

my 81 has them, they keep the rain from going on to the carpets and floor pan and rotting it out!

I think you do need them. I only had the one on my passenger side and didn't think much of it. Then one day I was washing it and had to open to door to get something out from inside. I noticed the water running right in under the seat. I looked on the other door (the one with the diverter) and water was "diverted" away from the interior.

I ordered the other diverter and now I'm good:

I put them on on 73 which did not come with them. The diverters will kept the seat belts dry and help keep the seat belt ratchet from rusting.

re:

When I re-did the interior on my 81 I didn't find anything like those. Does someone have a pic of what they look like on their vette? where do you install them?

Thanks,

-Chris

Thanks. I did find this, and noted that you can "add" them to a '72. Interesting they don't mention '68-'71? Is there a difference in the door openings of, say, a '70-'72 car? Thanks,

I wish I had found these from Ecklers, before buying them from Doc Rebuild. They cost twice as much from Doc Rebuild. By looking at the one from Ecklers they look the same as the one from Doc Rebuild. But I am glad I got them anyway. They sure keep the water out from going inside the car.

Does a '72 coupe have them? I am interested to see a pic as well. Thanks,

Rick

I have a set that I have been wanting to get painted to match the body before I install them. Mine is a 70 and there are holes in the rear pillar that will accept them so I am sure they would fit your 72.

re:

hey carmen, that pic helped a lot. Now I know that I do have those installed.
