Doors frozen and stuck shut

Both my doors are stuck shut. :ugh
I cleaned the seals with windex wipes and may have contributed to the problem but mainly it's the cold.
I see that Mid-America has a Silicon grease to lube the weatherstripping but I'm not happy with silicon due to prior bad experience with Armor-all.

What do youse think about this silicon grease?
Is there something else I can use to prevent future sticking?

My owners manual says use the silicone grease which I have for 13 years with good results. I recommed it on door and rear hatch seals.

My owners manual also says NOT to use Armorall.

Hot water should get them unstuck. Safer than those chemical de-icers

I used hot towels and got them loose. Then I lowered the windows just a bit so they don't get stuck again. I'll need the silicon grease to treat the weatherstrip too.

Used to happen to me in winter when I lived in Milwaukee. Carried a grapefruit knife around. Thin flexable blade, round tip...slip that baby between the door & rubber seal, opens in no time. Wouldn't use hot water though. Has a habit of refreezing.

FSM actually recommends dielectric grease for the weatherstrip.

I used to live in Colorado Spring and the vette was stored outside, used dielectric grease and never had stuck doors.

WOW...I'm soooo glad I don't have to contend with cold effects like yours. I park indoors....surely would up there, but if take outdoors for length of time....what a dragggg :ugh

Update (sorta) he he
I got the doors unstuck using hot damp towels .... and a coupla french expressions .... then I applied some silicon grease "Sill Ease" from the local Advance Auto store.
Then came the "Great Blizzard of 2010" burying the poor Vette under 18" of light powdery snow - perfect for skiing. I hope the $#%$#$ skiers are just delighted. ad
I have no idea if the doors are still unstuck. I have no idea if the Vette is actually there under the huge mound of drifted snow. I can't see anything but the huge snow pile.
I wish I had already moved to FL. :cool

Dammmm....I saw on the news all the snow going on....just a bit excessive I think....I live in North Texas and today we got almost six inches......allot of snow at one time for this neck of woods.....good luck trying to digg out.....spring time weather just 3 or 4 more weeks (usually for this area)....I'm with you though. I don't care for the snow....let the skiers have all they want....

The grease will last a little longer, but will also make more of a mess if you rub up against it. If you you use the spray twice yearly as you do you should be just fine.
