I have to get a new hood for my C6 and it's located 250 miles away. If the weather is OK could I remove my current hood and dirve hoodless and have the new hood installed when I get to the destination? Just wondering about cooling issues or anything I am missing. What do you think. Thanks, Mike

It should be OK in the cool weather.:ohnoes

I just thought about the fuel rail covers. Ya think they could blow off?

Ship it back.

Why take the risk, etc. In relation to the price of the new hood how much can it cost of have it shipped back via UPS? Can't be more than shipping a set of wheels I think.

(By the way, I'm a newbie. This is my first post here. 2nd Vette in my life, 25 years and 5 kids in between. Too bad there is no smile with a happy face in a tent cause I'm a happy camper.)

Added by edit: been to a few Corvette sites. I think this site has the best set of questions and answers.

What do you think. Thanks, Mike
Drive over with the stock hood on, have the new one installed and then ship the stocker to your house.
