driver seat problem

The other day while I was getting my wallet out of my pocket, I leaned back hard against the seat and something "popped". Now the back right side of the seat seems to be loose and won't come back into the orginal postion. Anybody know what happened or what I have to do to fix it? Thanks

Got's the same problem,

but it is just the left side only and I pull it up back into place, have requested some assistance.

Do you think that since no one has answered that the question should be in Technical?

Well, the original post was from 2004, it's a possibility that back then no one had an answer. I think that this is the right forum.

I can't help with an answer though. Wished I'd seen this last weekend as I had my seat out fixing the "rocking seat" issue and I could have looked at the way these seats are put together and give you an idea. As it is, I'll have to defer to someone else here to give you some insight.

You are having one of two possible problems. One is an easy fix, the other is a little more costly and requires more work. The way to determine your issue is to try the easy fix first, which has been documented in this TSB. The second possible solution is going to be found in this writeup I did. Those are the only two possible solutions for your problem as those are the two most common failures.
