I'm have trouble with the switch that's in the drivers side door that turns the inside lights in the car on and off. It's either got a short or a loose wire in it (or the switch is simply going bad) and will turn the lights on inside the car occasionally when the door is closed and they should be off. Anyone had this problem, or suggestions on where to go first when I pull the door apart to start hunting down this problem?

Thanks!
Charlie

Yes,Charlie!! The switch is probly going bad,There adjustable but the threads ware out because there plastic!! The switch is a little over $20. at Chevy, but somewhat a PITA to put in,the door panel has to come off and the power Lock solenoid has to come out to get to the wires on the back of it!!(Takes about a Hour +/-) If you want to give me a call later I'll walk you through Adjusting it,but it will probly do it again!! :upthumbs

PS You can get my toll Free # off my web site!! Do you still have my cell #?? :cool

Thanks Junk! I've still got your cell number, if the switch is around that price and it can be a bit of a pain to get to, I'll probably just wait until I've got a new one before pulling it apart.

Charlie,we can adjust it,it will work for awhile but it will probly go back to doing what it's doing!!! It only takes a second to adjust it!!! You don't have to take the door apart to do that!!:upthumbs

Thanks for the help Junk!!!

What I actually found to put to shim out the center button part on the switch that I liked best, was a small rubber O-ring...I know with it, it'll help keep it from being pushed in too far, but if it's mashing on it at all closed, it'll have some flex to it instead of just being solid.

Hopefully this will fix it, if not I'll be in touch about the switch...great to have a friend like you buddy!
