I am new to the list. Have a question. Bought a 1998 Medium Purple Pearl Metallic, Coupe last August (15,700 miles), The front seat adjuster is messing up. The seat is moving !!! And the seat bolsters are prematurly worn. Since I am not the original owner, will the dealer still fix these problems. If not , where can I go for a remedy to my problems ????

Hi there,
Medium Purple metallic, AWESOME color, and rare.
As for your issues, the seat adjuster has a TSB on this, and can be referenced with the knowledgebase here on the CACC. If you have an extended warranty, this may be covered.

As for the seat bolster, they were originally designed with leather on that area. When they were wearing because people were sliding across the area, they decided to make that part out of vinyl to eliminate the problem. That most likely will not be able to be rectified without cost. The cost is not as much as some would think. The revised cover may be around $250, plus installation, which only takes about 1.5 hours.

I have a hole on the door-side bolster on the driver's seat. I took it to an upholstery shop, thinking that it would be cheapest. The estimate was not cheap. I have seen seat covers in the aftermarket catalogs. Does GM offer a cheaper alternative? I have standard seats in a '97.
