Suddenly, the drivers side headlight on my 1994 LT1, operating fine before I parked, will not open all the way. It just "flutters" like a butterfly. Tried making an adjustment with the adjustment knob, but it seem to get worst. Please help. I haven't checked the FSM yet, but I will. Thank you kindly.

Headlight motor gear bushings? Common failure point.

Not really bushings, per say, more like little plastic buttons.

I've had some experience with GM headlight actuators before, the 'Vette's are a little different from what Pontiac used on the Fieros. That being said, it took me about 40 mins to do my driver's side the other day. Which included the time it took me to find an appropriate punch to drive out the roll pin.

Just be ready with the metric sockets....

I don't much care for the plastic gears myself. Mine had a couple of teeth that didn't look to be in good shape. I just changed both after reading about it. The bronze gear isn't going to wear out that easily. I don't want to have to do it again.
