How long does the driveshaft need to be, to function correctly? I mean, it's not the same as with a straight axle car, where the driveshaft moves up and down for suspension travel. With the fixed rear end of the Shark's IRS, how much movement is there that the driveshaft needs to account for?

Looking at transmission options. Some are longer than others...

In a straight axle car, the geometry of the driveshaft can be compromized it it is too short. I'm not sure how much of that actually continues over to our cars...

Joe,

There is very little movement as you guessed on a Vette. You can get away with more than a moving rear axle car.

However, the longer the better because more meat of the slip yoke is in the tail housing to reduce vibrations, etc.
