I always liked the Ontario Orange from the early 70's models, and I can sort of see the connection to todays Daytona Sunset Orange......

Anyone else see it? How 'bout those who have seen both in person?

Ah yes, another old timer like me. You bet it does!! That is one of the first things I thought when I saw it.\

That's a very good thing. Although I've had the year models of Corvette that offered this fine color, I never owned an Ontario Orange car.

I am ordering the DSOM. It may be a bit darker, but it is very nice.

I dont think they really have a bad color out, and the new orange is one of my favorite's. I guess when you have such a sharp car just about anything will look good on it. Also the sunset orange does remind me of ontario orange. I do like the Elkhart green of that era also, and wouldn't mind that coming back.

Now, I did have one of those. It was a '72 coupe with standard saddle interior, base engine and A/C. Very pretty car. You're right, I could see that color on the C6!

I've owned both Ontario orange and Elkhart green cars, as well as the the other infamous color.....Warbonnet yellow!

Tomorrow...

My DSOM Z51 6-speed has arrived at the dealer and I'm picking it up tomorrow (2004-12-17) (ordered in September). I'm trading in my 2000 C5 MagRedMet with beautiful HRE wheels that I'll miss. But it's time. There was just something about the new color that intrigues me. My wife is not so sure, to her a Corvette must be red. I guess I just need a change after 4 years and the subdued orange is it.

By the way, dtl, I'm often in Sac on CARB business (I'm from the east coast). I usually end up at Celestine's for lunch (love good gumbo).

P.S. Let's see if I can get some sleep tonight.

What a timely post. My buddy had a 73 in Ontario Orange and it is/was the hit of the town. We buried him yesteday after a massive heart attack took him at 54! That Corvette was the subject of many stories at the funeral.
