Finally got the turbos on the car and had a chance to make a few runs this past weekend.

I have included a graph of the best run. The interesting thing is this run was made with 15.1 to 16.5 psi of boost. Prior to the turbos being rebuilt/modified, comparable rwhp and rwtq figures required about 2 psi more boost. This is a testament to the work that Evergreen Turbo performed.

As a side note, I also keep close track of air conditions. The last set of runs I made prior to having the turbos redone were done with an air temp of 60 degrees and a density altitude of 360 feet to 500 feet. Yesterdays conditions were 77 degrees and a density altitude of 1700 feet. This makes the 586 rwhp that much more impressive.

I tried a run with around 18 psi of boost but aborted it because it was too lean. The extra air flow that these turbos produce now outstrip the fuel capabilities of my system. This is fine because I am quite happy with where I am at right now. I have taken the Callaway off the DynoJet and now it is time to drive it (a little) and enjoy it.

Numbers to be proud of if you ask me! Looks like Evergreen Turbo's did a great job. Think it's a good idea to drive the Callaway :)

Groeten Peter.

Steve; Those are awesome numbers. There is much I would like to know about this car. Can you run that type of boost on unleaded premium? Hope to hear more soon!! :upthumbs Ike

Peter, Chris, and Ike - thanks!

I run straight Union 76 premium unleaded 92 octane. At these boost levels, I have absolutely no problem with detonation. The plugs look perfect!

Steve I am glad everything worked out for you. Good Luck

Steve, what would you say was the single biggest "helper" to boost the power of the car and also, how much performance was gained by the big turbos from Evergreen??

Thanks - One day I hope to see your B2K :v :m

Pete & Josh, Thanks!

Chris, the single biggest "helper" is definitely the turbos. Evergreen didn't supply me with larger turbos, they just modified my existing ones - which were already bigger than stock. I am using the same compressor housing and turbine housing that I was before.

As you know, the previous best number I recorded was 650 rwhp and that was at 22 lbs of boost. Charlie recommended for longevity sake to keep the boost levels down around 16 - 18 psi. So this time I decided to just keep the boost levels around 16 psi and see what the numbers looked like. The fact that I have the same power level at 16 psi that it took 18 psi to make previously, speaks volumes about what Charlie was able to do. He definitely knows his stuff!!

And as far as seeing my B2K, anytime you are in this area I invite you to stop by.

Steve

Steve, Thanks :m

The Calla. TT I just picked up has some sort of boost ctrl. knob installed and the turbos have been ported as well.

I am not sure how much boost was run w/ it before but am anxious to find out the performance :upthumbs

...stay tuned! :cool

Thanks again for the updates on your awesome Calla. :m :v
