Looking for a good dyno tuner near Little Rock Arkansas. I have an LT1 modded to LT4 and need a prom reprogram to Level 4 or 5. Want to have reprograming and dyno run at the same place. I live in NW Arkansas, near Harrison. There is a good dyno tuner in Tulsa but that is a 3 1/2 hour drive.

if no one helps you do some research for any 4th gen fbody clubs out your way. maybe someone does but alot of chip burners are far and few between so you may have toget a shop to do data logging on your car then send the info to the tuner who will burn it to your logs. depending on your year you may find a tuner in your area that uses LT1 edit. check out the fbody boards. those guys seem to mod more.

why do you need it tuned?

just some suggestions.

Replaced stock LT1 due to SEVERE overheating. New 350 short block bored 30 over, 52 mm throttle body,CNC Ported AFR heads, 2.02 intake valves, 1.6 exhaust valves, Z29 cam, JE pistons, Speed pro file to fit rings, micro polished crank w/clevite bearings, hooker headers, flowmaster exhaust.

The car has stock tune/program. New program and tune should accomodate these mods and probably gain torque and horsepower.

how does it run? how many miles on the new build? have you read the plugs if you got some milage on the car? checking your AF ration the old way :D

are you running 1.6 roller rockers?

Have about 3000 miles on motor. Yes, I am running 1.6 roller rockers. Car is 6 speed with 3:42 rear end. The car runs good but how much better than stock I don't know. I bought the car with the burned up motor so I have nothing to compare to. I do know fuel shut off occurs around 5300 rpm. I should be able to boost that to 6200 or so safely. I talked to a couple motor builders and they agreed that if I went to level 4 or 5 programming I should gain 30 or 40 horses.

I have a 67 Firebird with a modded 455 motor, around 415 hp and lots and lots of torque, TH350 Trans., 2400 stall converter, 3:73 rear end. I don't race so I don't have any real numbers. I sometimes find a lonely stretch of road and have a bit of fun. Have 1/4 mile marked off there. The Firebird reads about 115 mph and the Vette 110 mph. Never stop watched either car. The Firebird is very torquey and does great in the 1/4, it's a fun ride but not like the Vette. With the 6 speed and our curvy and sometimes steep roads the Vette is a rush to drive!

if your hitting about 110 mph your around mid to high 12's. get some long tube headers and open that puppy up.

no way your gonna get 40 rwhp. 30 is pushing it even with a good tuner. most see around 20 rwhp.

if the car idles good and the plugs are showing a good burn then the only thing really left to do is play with the timing parameters and i don't know how much more your gonna get.

i know guys with LT1 FBodies running stock systems and cracking low to mid 12's on good tunes. ie plug wires clean filter ect.

spend your money on LONG tube headers and finish your other bolt on's then worry about the chip because with the headers and a good exhaust ( no resinators) you could see upto 40+ rwhp and about the same in rwtq.

i don't think LT1's had fuel cutoff's. i am pretty sure they have rev limiters and it should be set around 5800 rpm. now this is something they can fix for you using LT1 edit is to raise the bar on the rev limiter and change any rear gearing for the speedo.

hope this helps.
