1992 C4 green drop top
2 I'm doing brake work right now and while taking off the little E-Clip from the caliper it broke
Is that something "special" or is it just gotten from the hardware store?

TIA...

I believe it is stainless steel, but if you can find one, the right size, at a hardware store, buy it.

You need that clip. It secures the guide pin that it came off of. As you're assembling everything make darned sure you apply high melting point grease, such as silicone lubricant, to all surfaces that touch. This includes that guide pin and brake pad surfaces where they touch the caliper. Use even on the back of each pad to insure no squealing or squeaking when done (never been a fan of that goop that comes with new pads). Of course, make certain that if any grease gets on the rotor wear surface or pad surface, you remove that with brake cleaner and a clean rag. Good luck.

Thanks I plan on buying 2 new pins and clips...
