Early 70's louvers in a 73+ nose?

Just curious, has anyone installed the side vent louvers (the grid type) from a chrome-bumper car, in a 73+ plastic-bumper car?

I have seen "egg crates" on a later model vette.

I think it was corvettes down under or something. It looked pretty cool. I think what the owner did was to remove the area around the original side ducts and glass the "crates" in.
