early->late C4 hood prop upgrade

If you don't go ...is there some one else going that you know of ?...I really need a shifter button for this 4+3 shifter and Pa. is a long way from Ga.

Ouch! Well, given the choice between doing some metal modification or having the hood fall on me, I'll choose the modding... Twice during my rebuild I had to catch the hood on its way down towards me...

I thought 87's had the left-side prop rod from the factory? What did he replace the brace with?

If I'm not going, I'll find someone who is - there are a couple friends who should be, plus some other CACers. I may just wind up taking my son along to the show. He'll enjoy it for maybe two hours, then get bored (he's not yet 5), but I should be able to bribe him with a model Vette or three :).

Wow! That would leave a mark or two huh? Some wimpy looking thing. It has the same brackets you have. Rod is small with a button and just one step from being a broom handle.....:L

If you can find 2 buttons for me I will pay for the model!:D

I think you may actually have the factory prop - Mad Mic's '87 has a button to push, but sits on an L-shaped bracket at the top front of the wheel well. What Moonunit and I installed are from LT1 cars, and the bracket is down on the frame right next to the radiator, and the prop rod gets slipped to one side to unlock it.

did you get the hood prop on? I have one from a LT1 car and it is working just fine. Let me know if you need some pictures or such.

Just do what I did order the lower bracket for a 94 corvette.
I installed the 94 hood prop on my 86 .
Got tired of the guy in the picture.
remove the bolt in the plastic around the tire area and install it their.

I attempted some pictures of my 90 , cheap camera,, tells it all. :eyerole
hope this helps you some. On mine the prop bracket is also the fender brace.Has 2 bolts to the front of the prop .:)
