I couldn't recall where we had discussed the a/c compresor however, I mentioned I had planned on just replacing the clutch vs. the entire compressor ($375.00) vs. ($800.00+).
I got a compressor clutch kit from GM and apparently, the same part # covers all Nippondenso units and utilizes an oval, two-prong weatherpack connector. I returned the kit thinking something was wrong however, we verified this afternoon that that IS the listed (correct) part # and it looks like to make it work, your old square plug / harness will have to have the leads trimmed off and spliced to the new unit.
I plan on picking up the part again and going forward with the swap - it is 1/2 the cost of the new compressor when it is only the clutch that fried :eek
Also, by doing just the clutch, I will not have to recharge the a/c uit when done - Have you priced R12 recently :eek
I will let you know how this progresses :cool
