Anybody make this event other than me?

Sure was alot to see....

I saw (4) Grand Sports, 3 coupes & one 'vert and maybe 3-4 LT4's...out of maybe 200-300 Vette's ....we LT4er's are sure a minority!

Lots of C5's and a few C6's...even a red one with the new 427!!...Hell, if you got $90,000.00 xtra, you can own one to...as always the C1's & C2's ruled! Just can't help but love those vintage rides...Ecklers has more available parts for these than us, go figure!!

Just curious, if you made it to this event, did you learn anything new to share here?

Stinger!!

Learned that the LT 4 is more scarce than I thought, and I think the value will continue to climb. I spoke to several people who thought that the LT 4 was already a serious collectors item and these were from C 1 & 2 owners.I was surprised how many different people knew about the LT 4.As you noticed there weren't that many quality C4 present. I think Ecklers turns it's back on C4 owners as you can tell buy what they keep in stock.Ecklers has falling to the bottom of my list of corvette parts supplyers. I only live 40 minutes away and I can tell you that it's a 50-50 chance they will have what you want in stock. As far as shows go I thought it was ok but not something that I would plan a trip around. I thought the vendors were on the weak side and I don't know if you noticed but they moved the exhaust installs across the street, to bad cause I kinda liked hearing what the different exhaust sounded like after they were installed. Just my opinion....

ecklers

yeah i was there on fri. & sat....fri was a waste! i think it was because of the weather and most people have to work. sat wasn't too much better, but more cars though. i saw some nice grand sports and collector editions w/LT4's some real nice mid years also. now that the 2006 c6's are out in full..... convt's and ZO6's, the c5" will start to go the way of us poor c4 owners. but.... hopefully we c4 owners will see a better appreciation of our cars in the future just like the c3's are now. just remember how the c4 was touted when it was released over 20 years ago.. even with the sickly crossfire it would out handle most everything on the road.. just let people know that c4's started the modern evolution of suspension and fuel technology.i never liked the rear end of the C5..it looks like a back view of a fat woman riding a bicycle. i like my c4 with its 406cu, tpi mini ram, tpi stage VI chip, lt4 hotcam kit, headers, true dual 2½" exhaust and flowmaster mufflers w/ss. lt1 tips (man does it drone in high gear), reverse valvebody manual shift, totally worked 700R4, and 373 rear gears. i'll kill any stock ZO6 out there and i'll even try a new 427 ZO6.
on the dyno i'm pushing 535 horse on a cool day. i wish i could find a way to adapt a new mass air sensor from a c5 or c6 so i can get more air to my mill. any one out there have any ideas?

I agree with you regarding the quality of the event...definately geared towards the C5 and up crowd...as far as exhaust installs, did you discover what I did? They won't even do C4's anymore...I was told they are "to old" to work on and they had a problem last year with a C4 that had lots of miles and they screwed it up! No more C4's...I did purchase a Corsa cat back for my LT4 at the event and got 10% off the retail of $899.99 price, but I will have to get it installed elsewhere...thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, I agree with all you stated.

By the way, I live in Merritt Island...only 20 minutes from them.

i live in dreadfull deltona, but work at mighty muscle cars, inc. in new smyrna beach so getting there is no problem... by the way if you need to order anything from ecklers call and ask for nancy... she is great and i normally get my order in about 2 days with the few exceptions of hard to find parts...she will even go the extra mile and try to find hard to find parts.

Hey vetman1526,

Like you I was there on Friday as well, sort of looked like a ghost town compared to Saturday...I also went back up there yesterday (Monday) to pick up the Corsa exhaust I bought on Saturday. You would never know this event happened!! I was the only guy there and the only one in the showroom for about an hour...just before noon! Seemed really weird considering all that went on Saturday...anyhow, sounds like you got a "screamer" on your hands...keep us informed as to your progress up against the C5/C6 crowd!

hey man good talking with you gotta go now because 5am comes real fast to us old guys! if you hear of anyone doing a mass air redux with a c5/c6 or granitelli maf let me know... i'll be on tomorrow c ya

yea, they told me last year that they would no longer do C4 exhaust....funny until the C5 they couldn't do enough exhaust, I guess I think different than them as I would think that C4 would be ready for exhaust due to their age and a bundle of $$ could be made but they only want to do C5 and 6. As I said before I order more parts from other vendors, Mid America, Corvette America, and while I was at Corvette Carlisle this year I found a new vendor that I was pretty impressed with, their name THE LAST DETAL, they are out of Atlanta have a nice catalog and nice friendly people and had all the parts that I needed at a better price. Check them out...

This "The Last Detal"...is this the correct spelling and just out of curiosity, do they have a web site to check out?

I did a google search and I am getting ...of all things...wedding planners and such!! Help out here....

I looked it up in their catalog and the web site is....www.AtlantaCorvette.com t/p 7704140077. I don't know why they don't have their website as The Last Detail but thats the name of of company...perhaps to many hits for the wedding planners...ha..ha..
