EGR temp. switch

I had a code 32 pop up the other day. The service engine soon light comes on when I drive about 5 to 8 miles on the highway. From everything I read, the problem points to the EGR temp. switch. Is this hard to replace? App. cost of this switch?(auto zone was 73.99) I really want to put a Delco one on as a replacement. The service engine soon light turns off when car cools down. Any answers will be appreciated. Also, would it be wise to disconnect the battery to clear the code before replacing it. Just to see if it might come on again. I read that TOP rotated that switch, and hasn't had a problem since with it. I may try that as well before replacing it. Let me know what you guys think I should do.
