Good morning C3ers,

Is there any simple way to replace the automatic choke on my stock Q-jet carb with an electric one?

Engine is a stock SB w/a stock Q-jet.

Yes

Yes, you can. Block off the hole in the intake manifold, there is a plate available for this. Purchase an electric choke for your Q-Jet and find a switched 12-V source under the hood to use as a supply circuit - Voila!

But now one must ask - WHY?

I like the non-electric choke set up better.

In my own case, an Edelbrock performer intake manifold doesn't have a hot air choke provision so electric is going to be added. I know the yellow wire to the wiper motor is often shown as a good switched source, but how does one connect to that ? (in a non Bubba way)
