Had to make an out of town trip the other day and had to take the Vette, as the other car was in the shop. Anyway, before coming back, I turned the key and nothing happened. Gave it another turn and the car started but very slowly. I made a few more stops that day and the car started just fine. Well, the next morning as I was coming home the car did the same thing again. So, needless to say I left the car running at the gas stations and had to visit a few country roads for some nature breaks. But, on the way back I had to make a sudden stop. When I did all of the lights on the information panel light up like a Christmas tree and then went out when the car rocked back. Also, sometime last year, the gas guage shows more gas in it than it really has.( found this out by running out of gas twice).
Anyway, was wondering if this is the start of some electrical problems or just the starter. Or, in a worse case, both. If anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
ems

As for the gas gauge, I had a similar issue with mine. In my case the level would go up over rough roads and not alway come back down. I ended up pulling the sender and fuel pump out of the tank, I believe it was getting hung up on the baffles inside the tank ( you can reach in tank and feel them), I put it all back together and have not had the problem since - Lucky i guess, may have just aligned it better than GM? hth

I have replaced the battery a couple of times now, but it is going to sit again for a while. So, I may want to just replace it again. I'll be disconnecting it anyway, might as well run it down to the local parts store for a check. Anyway, thanks for the tip on the gas tank. I'll have to take a look at it sometime.

Thanks Again,
ems
