Hey guys/gals,

Basically the guy i bought the vette off a few months back had bought all 4 Delco emblems (front, 2x front fenders, gas cap) but hadn't attached any of them. It's time I did.

Anyways - the gas cap emblem comes with screws (as you obviously have easy access to it), but what's the best method to attach the other 3 emblems that just have straight dowels?? I'm not too optimistic about the fairly weak-looking adhesive tape that comes ready-applied to the back of emblems.

Is there an additional adhesive that is best for the job??

If the paint surface clean and free of wax,Thats all you need!!:thumb:thumb That double faced tape is Strong stuff the automotive manufacturers have been using it for over 25 years now and have purdy much have it perfected!:thumb:thumb

Your gonna want to use black 'Automotive' type of two face tape and an X-acto knife to cut it to perfectly fit behind the letter moulding.

Dan, if your remaining emblems have dowels, then you are referring to those like the rear bumper "CORVETTE" emblem? There should still be holes in the bumper. Typically when you get those emblems as new, there are these dome-nut things that kinda screw on & push on to the back of the emblem. I know, "Great description, Evo!" Someone here will chime in with what I'm talking about. Or maybe one of the big mailorder houses will have pics of these caps/nuts with a pic of the emblem.

The other emblems that are flat, yes, they have the adhesive already applied. To get a good adhesion, I use GooGone and/or dishwashing soap to clean the area to remove any residue. That'll make sure you have a clean surface to affix it. Just be sure that you don't slosh the Goo-Gone/detergent all over your car. That would be potentially bad. :)
