For some reason my emergency brake light is on even though it's not engaged. I've even pulled it up and then put it back down but the light still remains. Please help
Thanks, Murf

It's probably just an adjustment. Have you tried releasing the lock and seeing if the handle is retracting all the way. Mine was missing its spring and wouldn't fully unlatch so my light would stay lit too.

That light will also come on if there is something wrong with the brake system. If you look on the Master Cylinder you will see a wire connected to a sensor. If something is wrong that sensor is engaged and the light comes on.

Had the same problem the wire on the master cyclinder came off.

Just my $00.02

Two separate things we're talking about here it seems. Is it the parking brake light, or the brake system light? Is it the orange ABS light or the red e-brake light?

Yeah, try what I said first. I'll betcha it's the handle not fully retracting and the switch is not closing. The switch may even have fallen off, or turned so that the handle does not contact it. ;)

It is a pain to get down in there but it can be done without removing the seat.

Ken...perhaps with ABS it is different then mine. However, look at the diagram below and you can see the E-Brake and the Brake Sensor are connected to the light on the dash. Maybe with ABS this wire on the MC is routed differently.
