Hey Folks,

I just bought the Crane Energizer cam kit (lift: .515"/.515", duration: 272°/272°) for my big block project.

The heads are GM casting # 336781 oval ports. I'm going to have them updated with 2.19" intake and 1.88" exhaust valves. This go-around, I am looking for more torque/good low end response - rather than just high HP. Hopefully, I'll be able to maintain good vacuum. Any thoughts on this combo?

When do you plan to start your project, Ralph? I now have all parts in hand except cylinder heads. Probably will start tearing her down in spring.

Jeff,

I've started started the project. Unlike my former rebuild, I won't disable the Vette during the project -- so I'll pace myself and it may take a very long time to complete.

How long do you expect to complete your transformation?

I've attached a photo of the intake. I think this is a low profile type like the stock type, so I hope this will help with clearance with a stock LT1 hood. The connecting rods are getting worked on now (new ARP bolts). I'll take a pic of the block later -- too cold outside lately.
