engine cuts out during curves

Hopefully someone else has had this problem. When in a sharp curve the car feels like it is running out of gas. About 25,000 miles ago I replaced a failing fuel pump so hopefully it is not that problem again. Advice please…..

Might be a dumb idea, but a while back had a jeep cherokee that did the same thing. ended up being a fuel filter in the gas tank.

Under sharp maneuvers and low on fuel this car will do this... you don't say how much gas is in the car when this happens?

IF NOT and you have an adequate amount of fuel......

I'd pull the pump and sending unit and take a look at it. Something has likely come loose on it.

Ditto Chick's response - low fuel and hard cornering will result in fuel starvation in a C4. How much gas did you have in the tank? For autocross and other hard turning work, 1/2 tank or better is highly recommended.

Normally, hard turns in a C4 will not do this unless the tank is low.

I third Chicks response as well. If a change out of the fuel filter doesn't prove to be the problem hook up the regulator to a fuel pressure gauge and try the car at WOT, idle, even try bouncing the car (Long shot).

Condition exist regardless of fuel level in tank. Thanks, I will replace the fuel filter immedately and see if that helps. Any possibility of the PCV causing this type of problem?

I've had the same problem...acceleration, while turning from a slow to dead stop would nearly kill my engine with half a tank. Now it does it in straight travel but worse. The engine seems to be "starving" for fuel. In December the filter and plugs/wires were changed, but car was in a garage for a couple of months in VA. Now its in Jersey(lot colder). Runs great while driving though. Car is 96 with 85000m. I am looking into changing the filter and sock. Is it hard to do?

I meant replace my fuel pump and sock, fuel filter was changed in Dec. Has anyone ever tried disconnecting vacuum line from fuel press. regulator? I read it's supposed to increase fuel pressure by 5psi.
