Can anyone tell me what these numbers stand for, I found them on the engine block just in front of the right rocker cover
15S409973 V12l8CHB

VIN #1Z37J5S409973. I know what the vin stands for.
I found my build sheet yesterday that was really good,:J

Looks like it is a matching numbers engine. The 15S409973 is the VIN deritive. Note the S409973 matches the last of the VIN.

The V1218CHB is the engine useage/build codes. V=Flint Engine plant, 1218=engine assembly date (Dec 18), and the CHB=base L48 with auto trans and federal emissions.

Your '75 coupe was built in early Jan 75. So the Dec 18, 74 engine assembly date looks right.
