Hey guys, did headers on my car recently. I have noticed that my coolant temps are alot higher. Is this a result of the headers. I figure it might raise the engine temps a little bit, but I am seeing them up by about 30 degrees in some cases.

I also believe it could be a product of air trapped in the cooling system. I thought I had it all purged out, but i am going to try again tonight.

Well thought I might ask what some others experienced.

Actually the headers should help the engine cool a little better because of getting the hot gases out of it quicker!! It would be my guess that you still have air in the system or the radiator is getting plugged from years of use, allot of times it will show up after having the system emptied for a few days!! It just kinda dries out and knocks stuff loose in there that it normally wouldn't under normal driving conditions!!:upthumbs

I think the system is clean. Would I notice junk moving around if there was plugs?? The coolant looks good. I think I have some air issues in the coolant system.

Can I buy a thermostat housing that has a purge valve?
