I washed the engine just like I have done before. The engine started normal and I took off to do a lap around the block, got on the steet and then.... tranny would not shift to 2nd and the engine now stays at 1,500 RPMS. The "SERVICE ASR" light came up, I restarted the engine and never came back on again.

What the heck I did wrong? better said, What got wet?
I got a road trip to nevada friday:mad

I'm not sure but mine did pretty much the same thing after I washed it for the second time. I just let the car sit for about 10 days and dry out. After that no worries.I figure the computer or some of its connections got wet.

Before you take this advice I would check with a vette mechanic. I spray my boat engine with a product that repels moisture. You can spray it right into an alternator to drive the water out. I think it's called 5-56. Any boat place will know. I can't see it hurting anything, I douse my whole boat engine with it after every run and before I winterize it. It might help.
