This may happen as soon as Monday 7 Dec. One reason EPA is going to do this is once CO2 is a "public danger" it can unilaterally revise automobile exhaust emissions regulations to more stringently limit CO2 emissions.

If you want a ZR1 or a Z06, order them, now. 2011 may be too late.

Also...
:boogie
...everyone needs to reduce activity so they won't breathe so hard as that will reduce CO2 emissions.

We voted for change we can live with.
Looks like we may actually get a revolution we're going to pay a lot for.

They're doing this now for two reasons:
1) The Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change happens next week, and the EPA bureaucrats are embarrassed that the US never signed onto the Kyoto accords. They want something to show for Copenhagen this time around.

2) The ClimateGate scandal is undermining public confidence in how climate change data has been acquired, analyzed and used to advance legislation like Cap-and-Trade. As a result, it's not particularly likely that Cap-and-Trade will actually pass, so the EPA is going to simply start regulating CO2 without waiting for congressional action.

Someone needs to sue them. Now.

Well for ME... I'm gonna do all I can to increase MY Carbon Dioxide and Dihydrogen Monoxide output and intake.... Hehehehehe STUPID PEOPLE!

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the title of your post!

Regulate CO2 and tax it? Why not. Carbon credits are out now that the global warming stuff has been shown to manipulated. Everyone knows CO2 is a by product of simply breathing. Would not surprise me this would come out at some point.

The Environmental PERVERSION Agency has wanted a means in which to justify their existence and stiff YOU the individual with some sort of redistribution ponzi scheme as of lately.

Psst: Charlie,
Did you mean "Dihydrogen Monoxide"? Because you know that's a very dangerous chemical substance.

If that is so....
CO2 fire extinguishers and dry ice are out forever.
Then they will be made in Mexico like freon.

why doesnt the government just plant some trees and give a tax credit to anyone else that plants trees?

The EPA has us buy the throat for a long time, I agree they should be taken care of they are to powerful. I agree with Hib you need to get your factory hot rod soon it could be like 1971 all over again. The new car makers are in trouble already and the goverment wants to add to the there problems with new regulations that put more strain on them. you got to love them LOL........................ billy

:wWOW!:w

Photosynthesis produces oxygen with the aid of sunlight.
At night, the plants/trees etc. respirate like all of us - they take in oxygen and expell CO2.
Here's a strange -
When I went to look up the details, most sites do not even mention the respiration part. BTW the ptotosynthesis does produce net positive oxygen, albeit considerably high CO2. I guess it's not politically correct anymore. ;shrug
So our science has been corrupted by politics??

Not to forget the cow methane/co2.
Let's keep Al employed. All you nasty polluters are f******* the earth.
BTW the chinese do not pollute!! :boogie

Get out the dominoes

I hope all who've expressed opinions will write either the President (c/o The White House, Washington DC) or the Director of the EPA and express our displeasure.

Posting here, while it allows us to vent, does little towards changing the situation.

Epa

Hib ,you are right we can bitch all we want but we need to send something forward. Any idea of addresses to director of EPA and white house.............................Billy:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad

Well I for one am writing my Congressmen, Bob Brady here is Essington, PA. But I am getting really steamed by this insistent attack on 'Tailpipe Eminsions'. Right here where i live if you look southbound down my street, you'll see the Delaware River, and justa little over a mile down river is a PECO/Execlion coal fired electric generation plant, ( which oddly enought they have said on Sunday night is going to be close permanently) but just to the east is the Philadelphia Interrnational Airport. and between the peco plant & the airport, we get warcked from both ends.

If i wash my wifes 2007 Jeep at 8AM Sunday morning, shinning bright. but by 3PM it will have a black sheen all over it. Running just to the North, is Route 95, not more than 1/8 mile from here, but if you took all the pollution from all the traffic, cars, deisel trucks, buses & ect. from only one morning thru till mid afternoon, you still wouldn't even scratch the surface of poison emmisions, because the Power plant gets a 100 car load of coal twice a month and the airplanes taking off and landing are well over 200 flights. Now the EPA are banging the emmissions drum once again, but while they now include power plants, there's no requirement capping the black stream of soot bellowing out of every flight that leaves the airport, Why? This whole dog and pony show is just pure BS :BDH

Just a thought here for your consideration. I don't believe letters to either Obama or this woman at the EPA who announced the findings paper yesterday are going to amount to much. They don't really care what people who aren't ideologically aligned with them to view AGW as a problem that only goverment can rectify. Your letters will generate a polite form letter response, and be forgotten down the EPA's memory hole. (That would be the same memory hole into which the embarassment that was the whole Alar debacle was shoved and forgotten.)

Instead, let me suggest you contact these folks, and see how you might be able to offer some support for their effort: The Competitive Enterprise Institute, a conservative think-thank, how announced it will sue the EPA over these findings papers because they believe the papers themselves are based upon faulty science. As someone who's had to deal with the EPA over a 'threatened' sub-species of mouse (you may have heard of the Prebles Meadow Jumping Mouse), let me tell you that it has been my observation the only thing the EPA respects is being smacked down in court. Unfortunately, I think it's time to lawyer up, folks.

CEI Will File Suit to Block EPA Endangerment Finding
Global Warming Regulation Will Impose Economy-Crushing Regulations on the Basis of Ever-Shoddier Science

Washington, DC, Dec. 7, 2009 –The Environmental Protection Agency today finalized its finding that greenhouse gas emissions endanger public health and welfare and therefore must be regulated under the Clean Air Act. CEI announced that it will file suit in federal court to overturn the endangerment finding on the grounds that EPA has ignored major scientific issues, including those raised recently in the Climategate fraud scandal.

“EPA is clinging for dear life to the notion that the global climate models are holding up,” said Sam Kazman, CEI General Counsel. “In reality, those models are about to sink under the growing weight of evidence that they are fabrications.”

“Today’s decision by EPA will trigger costly and time-consuming permitting requirements for tens of thousands of previously unregulated small businesses under the Clean Air Act,” said Marlo Lewis, CEI Senior Fellow. “A more potent Anti-Stimulus Package would be hard to imagine.

“The sensible solution,” said Lewis, “would be for Congress to pass legislation, such as that proposed by Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee that would pre-empt the EPA from regulating carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions.”

EPA's action today is in response to the Supreme Court’s 2007 decision in Massachusetts v. EPA that required EPA to consider whether greenhouse gases should be regulated under the Clean Air Act.

(snip) let me tell you that it has been my observation the only thing the EPA respects is being smacked down in court. Unfortunately, I think it's time to lawyer up, folks.

Good advice, I'm afraid.
