Hello Everyone!

I am new to forums, so I will do the best I can!

I have a new to me 2007 Z06. It is a fixer upper! I am having issues finding/repairing the electronic suspension control module. I have a Tech 2 and it will not communicate with this module. I am new to the Tech 2...

I will deliver some back ground info so you all have as much info as I have. Most is not relevant to this specific issue but will give you an idea of the attention to detail the car has had in the past. It had an engine fire which was very light. Damage was to right outer carbon fibre fender, inner fender, hood and ECM wiring harness. It has a set of West coast Cylider heads on it and seems to have a cam swap. I have hooked up HPtuners and it deffinately needs to be programmed. It appears to have the original software in it. I have repaired all the wiring I found damaged and it runs ok at idle and wicked any where over 2300rpm. I will tune it up later. Is not running too lean or rich so no big deal for now?!? Chassis looks like it has been dropped out of car for engine work. Z06 has 14000 miles on it!

My question is: Does the 2007 Z06 have an ESC module? Where is it? It is not beside the ECM as shown in GM SI on my car. Nor is the wiring. It could have been removed due to fire. If so where does the harness break out to the ESC. The car does not have the sport/race button on the consule.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

HI there,

#1, do you have a CANdi Module attached to the Tech 2??

#2, you probably do NOT HAVE the suspension control module because your ZO6 and not a Carbon edition. ONLY your VIN will tell you for sure, you may PM that to me if you wish.

#3, your VIN can tell me everything your vehicle has, including build codes for every option listed. So, in truth, I do not believe you have an ESC module, nor do you need one.

#4, as far as the ECM calibration, you need to start with the OEM calibration for your vehicle. Then relearn the ANTITHEFT SYSTEM, THEN< once that is done, you can upload your tuning software specific to the heads and camshaft that you have in your car.

Allthebest, Paul

ESC Module

Thank you so much for helping!! You have to be right!! I looked for something simple last night, wiring to the shocks, nothing!! I also checked my RPO codes and it has the FE4 package, like all Z06 this year.
I have a CANDI module. How do I program out the ESC? Is it in the BCM? I will also verify the serial numbers of the modules with the build sheet off VIS. something must have been replaced. ECM would make most sense.
I am in the hospital for a couple days. I will not be able to work on the car. I will follow up ASAP.
Thanks again!!

HI there,

I dont understand. What are you experiencing that leads you to believe you have to program out the ESC?

Remember that the Tech2 will automatically look for the ESC in any diagnostic circuit check. It will say NO COMM because you dont have the module but that is NOT an indication that there is a problem.

Allthebest, Paul

For 2007, Magnaride was not available on Z06, thus you have no suspension module and the tester may report no comm with a suspension control module.

Also, listen to c4c5Specialist as far as having a tester which supports CAN and his comments about putting a stock cal in the ECM before you try and reprogram using HPT.
